On 22–23 October 2026, the USES4HEAT consortium gathered in Valladolid, Spain, for the M36 General Assembly, hosted by CARTIF. Partners from across Europe came together to review the project’s progress, align on upcoming activities and plan the final phase of the project.
The meeting began with a Project Management Committee session with the work package leaders, followed by the General Assembly. During the first day, partners presented the status of the project deliverables and the results achieved so far, starting with the demonstration sites, which have a central role in the project, and continuing with the work on technology development, stakeholder engagement and dissemination. The presentations were followed by a general discussion on milestones and next steps.
On the second day, the partners worked in groups led by the work package leaders to align their objectives and action plans and to review the interdependencies between tasks. Each group then presented its plan to all participants, and the meeting closed with a discussion of the next steps for the coming months.
The General Assembly was a valuable opportunity to strengthen collaboration and to prepare the demonstration, communication and dissemination activities that will bring the project’s large-scale seasonal thermal energy storage solutions closer to real operation across Europe.
